Delta Consultants, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Environmental Project Manager in our Bettendorf, Iowa office. This position is structured for someone with technical experience and expertise, but also with the ability and desire to develop new business opportunities in the region. The successful candidate will combine technical, financial, interpersonal, management, and new business development skills while working with a team of engineers, geologists, and subcontractors. The new business component of the position will require experience with the environmental market, particularly in the Iowa-Illinois area; the ability to assimilate the requirements, culture, and internal workings of existing clients; and a willingness to identify and develop new clients requiring all aspects of environmental services. A strong emphasis will be placed on the individual's ability to secure and complete projects in the environmental compliance field. Safety Delta focuses strongly upon safety in all aspects of our operations, in the field, the office, and while traveling. Our clients mandate safety and use it as a primary criterion for selecting and retaining consultants. The successful candidate must likewise consider safety as paramount and demonstrate an awareness of safe operations. Role Requirements Education and Training A minimum requirement of a BS in Geology, Engineering or Science. A PG or PE license is preferred for this position, but is not required. 40-Hour HAZWOPER training is required. Experience Proven track record of strong performance in environmental consulting supported by references; minimum of 5 years. Experience in environmental compliance, auditing and training projects. Experience in RCRA, CERCLA, and UST projects, including up to date investigation and remediation technical approaches. Experience in pushing projects through regulatory programs and negotiating closure with regulators. New business development experience or demonstrated capability. Fundamental Skill Set Strong organizational skills/attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, especially writing skills. High energy and self-initiative. Decision making skills. Ability to multi-task with multiple project managers. Ability to work independently and produce results. Proactive thinking. Ability to delegate and mentor staff resources.
