Sustainable Strategies for Global Leaders

Energy Management and Climate Change Experts, Eric Malinowski and John Stier, Join Global Corporate Consultancy

ST. PAUL, Minn March 27, 2009 - Delta Consultants, an Oranjewoud business group, announced today that Eric Malinowski and John Stier have joined the company’s Global Corporate Consultancy business group.

Mr. Malinowski will serve as Partner, Energy Management Practice Leader, and Mr. Stier will serve as Partner, Climate Change Practice Leader. Their primary responsibilities will be to lead global services related to development of energy and climate change strategies, respectively.

Both are former executives with Anheuser-Busch. Mr. Malinowski served the beverage company for 22 years, most recently as Group Director of Engineering Design. Mr. Stier joins the Global Corporate Consultancy after 29 years with Anheuser-Busch, most recently as Group Director of Corporate Environmental Affairs. During their tenures, Anheuser-Busch was ranked first in the beverage industry for social and environmental sustainability in FORTUNE magazine’s 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 “America’s Most Admired Companies” and “Global Most Admired Companies.” From 2003 to 2007, programs implemented under their leadership resulted in significant decreases in utility costs and environmental impact, including decreases in normalized brewery energy usage by 12%, water usage by 7%, solid waste by 45% and in companywide total greenhouse gases by over 4%.

Eric Malinowski

Mr. Malinowski brings to the firm over 28 years of industrial experience working on utility systems, water and
energy sustainability projects. His experience includes developing, integrating and implementing sustainable energy management programs and projects for various business sectors. He has worked closely with the U.S. Department of Energy National Renewable Energy Laboratories in a cooperative agreement to define cost-effective renewable energies for the industrial and transportation sectors. In addition, he has been recognized within the industry as a leader in providing strategic direction for energy efficiency projects centered on heat recovery, bio-gas production, electrical demand management and utility process systems modifications. 

John Stier

Through Mr. Stier’s guidance, Anheuser-Busch became recognized as a leader in environmental stewardship through active involvement as a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency WasteWise Hall of Fame member, a SmartWay Transport Initiative partner and a Climate Leaders program participant. He brings over 30 years of industrial experience working on regulatory compliance issues, legislative review, management systems implementation, and water and energy sustainability. He serves on an external advisory committee for the International Center for Advanced Renewable Energy and Sustainability at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. In 2007, he was selected to participate in a European climate change study trip at the request of key California regulatory agencies in advance of developing a climate change strategy and rulemaking for the State of California. Mr. Stier has managed regulatory compliance with the UK Climate Change Levy and UK and EU Emissions Trading Scheme for a large industrial facility near London. He has been recognized by industry, government and non-governmental entities as a leader in developing creative strategic solutions to environmental issues that provide competitive advantage.
