ST. PAUL, Minn. May 14, 2009 - Delta Consultants, an Oranjewoud company (NYSE Euronext: ORANW), received first runner up for the Green Partner Award, a category within the IBM Impact Business Partner Awards.
The IBM Impact Awards recognize business partners for excellence in providing clients with considerable business value-adding solutions through utilization of WebSphere software and SOA methodologies. Nominations for the Green Partner Award are reserved for Business Partners whose solutions are aimed at improvements in the arenas of energy and the environment. The Green Partner Award commends impressive solutions that substantially improve an organization's operational efficiency, employee productivity, and business profitability while simultaneously decreasing its carbon foot print.
Delta Consultants was recognized, in partnership with developer PointSource, for the web-based technology iEHS™. iEHS™ is the next generation of web-based environmental, health, safety and sustainability information management systems. For over ten years, hundreds of EHS professionals have utilized the capabilities of the technology’s predecessor, IntelligentEHS®. Today, iEHS™ comes to the market taking advantage of new web technologies to provide maximum flexibility in EHS and sustainability management.
“The delivery of every aspect of iEHS™ with new Service-oriented Architecture (SOA) will tremendously increase our flexibility to deliver custom designs, in many cases, without requiring extensive programming,” says Mark Longson, Senior Consultant for Delta Consultants. “By utilizing ‘web-services,’ the building blocks of iEHS™ (key parts of the system) can be reused many times, and the level of effort for the development of new web-services for client custom applications will be greatly reduced. In addition, by exposing elements of certain services to our clients, iEHS™ can take advantage of SOA to avoid complicated, time-consuming and expensive systems integration projects, a key cost containment benefit for our clients.”
Marc Brynczka, co-founder of PointSource, adds "Disparate data sources, incompatible applications, and legacy systems are just some of the challenges that companies face when implementing their environmental strategies. PointSource's BPM enabled SOA solutions help our customers to protect and improve profit margins through green software solutions that manage and reduce operating expenses and capital expenditures.”
“We are pleased to be recognized by IBM and the IBM Business Partner Community,” says Longson.
